Truth

Ahhh. As I sit here in the peace that is nap time, I thought I might share a thought or two. Yes, pics of the fam are coming later.

Truth. I hear all the time that we should “speak the truth in love” to others. What is this truth? For a long time I thought that this meant that if we saw a brother or sister struggling with sin, that we should gently lead them back on the right path (as I hope they would do for me). Yes, this is very important. However, now that we are home from China, I realize how hard Satan worked to try to get us not to go. He whispered so many lies to us, trying to instill fear.

This is where the truth comes in. If I am to be in true relationship with others, the Word of God should be seeping out of my pores. So, when a brother or sister in Christ (or not) shares an issue with me, I can more readily identify the lies of Satan and speak truth (the Word) to them. They do not need my “opinion”. They need God’s Truth! I need God’s Truth!

What if we read the bible every day and did what it said? Seriously. If I proclaim that the bible is true, I should live this way. Why don’t I? If you are a Christian, why don’t you?

Psalm 25:5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day long.

John 8:31-32 … So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, “If You abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Re-entry

Ok, I stole that title from a friend. But no other title really captured what I have been feeling.

First of all, jet-lag. It is real. It is UGLY. There were several nights that the boys woke up every hour on the hour thinking it was time to get up. Combined with my insomnia, it was rough!

Our bodies are pretty well switched over now. Saturday, we were able to have our first family fun day at home. We slept in a little, picked out pumpkins, went for a walk. So nice! Then last night we went trick or treating. The little ones may not be able to speak much English, but they were able to get their point across that they wanted MORE CANDY!

Now that we have the “twins” home, it feels like they have been here the whole time. It is such a bizarre feeling. Like our trip to China was a dream. I have to constantly remind myself that they are new here. They are such a blessing to our family, and all three of our boys are miracles in their own special way.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for all your love and prayers along the way. They definitely were/are felt.

Love,

Lori

Hebrews 4:14-16 NLT So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
